Coyote Question?

I never planned on doing a Coyote swap but I find myself in an interesting situation today. A friend of a friend of a friend crashed their 2012 Mustang GT California Edition and I find myself being urged on by my friends to buy this guys Gen 1 with 50k miles on for $5k. It comes mated to the stock manual transmission included. I never planned on doing this modern of a swap. What I want to know is this a good price? I'm leery of all the extra wiring. Is a stock Gen 1 Mustang Coyote even a good option for a swap?

This has been brought up a lot. If you search, you will find it takes a lot to do the swap.

Was wondering more about the price? Is $5k a good price on the motor and manual trans? And how the small broncos liked or performed with a higher rev engine?

The manual trans won't work in a Bronco. No adaptors to mate a transfer case to it.

Don't know current prices. A few years ago that would have been a very good price. but as the cars age the values drop. Have not been keeping track of current prices. Probably very few of us have. So don't be surprised if we don't have an answer, we are a Bronco forum, not a used mustang parts forum.

I would say that is a little on the high end considering you won't use the transmission. Unless you want a 2 wheel drive Bronco. Personally I think a Coyote out of a 4 wheel drive F-150 is the best option. That way you won't need to buy the expensive adapters to adapt a different transmission and t-case to the Coyote.

Thx for the info I was leery of doing it anyway. I was curious about the price and performance of a Stock Mustang Coyote. IE (tuning the ECU maybe needing a different cam and so forth) I imagine it would need a be a pain to get the most out of it being it was set up for a Lighter weight sports car.

The Mustang isn't the lightweight it once was. They are pretty heavy. As are most any new vehicles. A lot of metal has been added to pass all these new crash tests.
