Last spring I added a hydro boost. I bought a new dual return power steering pump. When hooked up to my steering box I mixed up the IN and OUT. I started the truck and let it run to work the air out., It didn’t sound right and fluid was hot. I figured out my F up and hooked it up right. Since then I have two issues. The power steering is sniff like the pump isn’t working and the brakes don’t feel like hydro boost.
It’s taken my a long time to cool down after that mistake and I’m ready to find out what I damaged.
My question is where should I start? Did I damage the pump , steering box or hydro boost or all 3 ?
I’m looking for suggestions to sort it out.

Don't feel like the lone ranger. Many of us have done this. I was so worried about it when I went to the Delphi box I put the front up on jack stands before starting the engine. Sure enough...the steering wheel went crazy.....lines were on backwards.

You may have damaged the pump. Assuming you have a warranty on the pump. I would swap it and see if thing improve.

I did , it was hooked up wrong while I was trying to bleed it. But it has never been right. The steering is stiff and the hydro boost is not effective. I’m wondering if I hurt the pump.

Did you hook the steering box up backwards, the hydroboost up backwards, or both? If both, has all been corrected? I hooked up my hydroboost backwards and had power steering but crap brakes. Realized my mistake, swapped the lines, and all worked perfectly.
