I have seen some descriptions of removal of these seals in order to replace. Before embarking on such an endeavor, I want to verify my understanding of the procedure. 1) This conceivable can be done without removing the D20 unit from the truck AND WITHOUT opening the unit.
2) If so, one needs to remove the seals with one of the techniques listed ( ex. wood screws and vice grips), then slide on the new seals
3, Any dressing or or special pressing necessary?
4. Does this apply to from and rear seals?

Thank you for any corrections or verifications!

Didn’t see this earlier. Just bringing it back to the top.
I’ve done it, but the transfer case was out and completely apart. So no help on doing it in the vehicle.
