I have seen some descriptions of removal of these seals in order to replace. Before embarking on such an endeavor, I want to verify my understanding of the procedure. 1) This conceivable can be done without removing the D20 unit from the truck AND WITHOUT opening the unit.
2) If so, one needs to remove the seals with one of the techniques listed ( ex. wood screws and vice grips), then slide on the new seals
3, Any dressing or or special pressing necessary?
Thank you for any corrections or verifications!

I've changed the seal on my cold duck which is a T shift rail, it's tough getting the old seal out and it's on the bottom and easy to get to the way the duck is clocked. So, yes it can be done on T shift rails but it won't be easy. I put some wheel bearing grease on the rubber seal when I put the new one in. Good luck.
