Dana 44 vs adjusting sleeve?

Just had new BJ’s pressed into knuckles (using Tom’s Bronco parts) but the sleeves aren’t in there. Can you forget to install??

Ps-to be clear they’re not installed, came back on top of rubber boot.

The upper ball joint uses a preload adjusting sleeve, it goes in the housing’s upper yoke. Is that what you’re asking about?

Once you install the loaded knuckle into the housing, you torque the lower nut, then you install the upper sleeve, torque to the proper preload, then torque the upper castle nut.
