Took my dash out to paint and clean all the poop from behind. (Bronco sat in a field for 20 years) I thought I would make provisions for future "A" posts. Dash will be painted white.

Wow. I just deleted the ashtray and moved the glovebox over. Never thought about shortening the door like that.

Mouse poop was about 1/4" thick on the back bottom edge of dash. I thought all the wires would have been a chewed mess. But have not found any nibble marks yet. Yet!

So....... might as well make provisions to run the tubes through the dash while you are at it.

Just decide on your tube diam, commit to using a custom bent front hoop, and all you have to do is decide where, cut for it, and leave it open to slip the hoop through later, sleeve it or whatever.

Easy, right? :)

Looks clean, good work. What did you use to grind down the welds?

Thanks

Cut off wheel for all the cuts and the First "ruff" grinding of the welds

Then I used this wheel on my 4" grinder. Not sure what you call it but in handled the "final" grinding like a champ.

Thanks, Thats is a thought. I am planning on 1 3/4 tubing. When I get the money my plan is to buy a bender from speedway motors in Lincoln Ne. At my old job I had done some cages in road race cars and drag cars and I am excited about the idea to be able to pull the whole thing out of the truck for paint. This will be a first. Always to had to paint them in the car and always a pain to get to the top of the welds under the top. this cage should fairly straight forward. Just need money and time. Just trying to get the ol girl on the road with the 25 plus year old paint for now. Add cage later.
