This is very interesting. I hadnt thought of running without a dash pad. But, I kinda like how it looks. I'm nearing the completion of my Bronco build and was not looking forward to dropping the $ on a dash pad. Now maybe I won't! Any other pics of no dash pad?

I'll keep my cracked old dash pad

I will keep my cracked and old dash pad until I get around tuit. Perhaps it will crack and flake away. I don't even know where to look for a new one. I guess all the usual suspects will have'em

Yep. They have covers, which are reasonably priced, and new dash pads, which are a bit more expensive.

So I installed the dashpad yesterday, and have to admit, I'm really glad I did. I think it looks a lot better than I thought it would. That, and it makes my Dad happy, which is worth it just for that. A few pics.

Looks great Rob..!

I prefer the dash pad off. Fo what it worth it looks more like a bronco that way.

I know what you mean, but seeing as how EB's came with the dashpad originally, I'm not sure why it looks more like a Bronco without it. It's a quandry.

Dash box pictures

Just got these in so posting for TOMKLU. I kinda like it. Would be even nice if it had a pad on it, lol. How far does it stick out? Where'd ya find it?

Nice interior Tom and if you'd send me those tires on the wall, it'd give you more storage space in your garage!

I voted for dash. I was thinking I was voting for the whole damn thing. Not the dash pad. Now I know we are talking dash pad. I like both.

I'm sorry for the late responses. I'm away from the PC for days or more. Thanks msweb for posting the pics.
The box was made by Sam Suhr ( Wild Child ). The dimensions are 30" wide, 3.5" tall, 6.25 inches form the dash. The box was bare metal and I applied a dull, non-glare, textured paint. I don't see why you couldn't cover it in a pad. Having the dash box makes it easier to acess items then reachind down inside the center console. You can keep your eyes on the road.
The tires were my loud BFG MTs, went ATs. The shop is fairly new, called Bronco Fab here in San Diego, 619-265-7487.

My take is, if your like me and kinda like to keep the dash panel stock and clean looking then keep the pad. If you clean it up with aftermarket gauges and updated radio then I like the pad deleted look.

man, that is such a good idea. next time I tear apart my interior, I'd love to add somethin like that. maybe I'll fab something up to kinda keep the same shape as the stock dash, but angular...that'd be neato
why has nobody thought of that before?

Tell more about the Shop. Where in SD, and what do you specialize in? I am in SD every weekend, and I keep my Bronco there too at my folks house.
