I would like to replace the dash pad on my 75 EB and was wondering where is the best place to purchase ? It looks like it should be simple to replace but would like to know if I should be aware of any issues.

I think all the venders sells a new replacement dash pad and a dash pad cover which slips over the existing and glues in place.

Pad is like $250 and the cover is like $80

Removing the pad requires dropping the windshield as there are screws you can't get to without doing so.

Yep, simple it may be, but easy it ain't.:(

If you go with a cover, you have to make sure that all big cracks are filled and all pieces of splits that are proud of the original are cut off. If not, all those blemishes will show through the new cover.
Not sure why, because those covers are fairly hard plastic. Evidently not hard enough though.

If you do the full pad, it's the best way perhaps, but you will be disconnecting the hard top and pushing the windshield forward far enough to get to the front-facing screws.
Bummer, but doable. If you don't have a top on, you're almost there!

I have just removed the bolts that hold the dash on and slid it back far enough to access the front pad screws, it beats lifting the top and folding the w-frame down, unless its not sealed up all that good. I don't put those screws back in, either way its a PITA.

I ran the coverall plastic cover for almost 20 years before it failed. I finally replaced my dash pad from Melissa at Bronco Hut close to 2 years ago. I bought it there because I wanted a dark green pad. Great service and great product.

I thought it looks to simple so I sure appreciate all of the comments. If I just put on the cover do I still need to disconnect the hard top and push the windshield forward?

The plastic cover glues down with silicone you don't have to deal with the top and windshield. You do have to cut down puckered up split vinyl and fill low spots with silicone to make a smooth base.

I have removed a few pads by using a grinder and small cutoff wheel to grind the screws between the windshield and the pad. Just be careful not to grind the glass. I did not re-install the screws with the new pads. They don't seem to make a lot of difference in stability. If I ever have the top off I will put them in.

Been running a cover for about 15 years.
Didn't even have to glue it in. It fit really well as soon as I put it on.
Still there. Never warped or faded and again I didn't even have to glue it on.
Install time was 10 or 12 seconds.

I went with the cover, but I believe I took the dash pad off and was very particular with the glue down process. I guess I had a lot of time on my hands, but it sure did make for a nice job. It has been a few years and its working out great.
