Hello everyone, new here been looking around for a bronco project. I'm a 25yr old Toyota mechanic I'm in Ontario, Canada. Haven't gotten too many details yet on this thing, its a 1970 bronco wagon, runs and moves but body is rough is all I know as of now. Has a plow on the front thats working but I'll remove that. Lowest he says he will take is 950 hoping to go have a look this week just over 2.5hrs one way for me. Just wondering if by the looks of it is it worth it and what I should look for when I go have a look at it? Or if I should back away due to it having a plow? Anyways here's the ad look forward to learning lots. Thanks in advance

Welcome to Classic Broncos!

If your area of Ontario is anything like Eastern Canada, Broncos are very hard to come by. Judging from the pictures, It looks like it has been run in the salt quite a bit. If you decide to go take a look at it, give the frame a good inspection especially at the back around the gas tank and the rear cross member.

Also, sometimes you might have better luck just asking around to the local car guys or junkyard owners if they know of any. Some of the best deals are never posted on sites like Kijiji

That poor girl needs saving -- fast! I've seen worse become gems, but there is a crap load of rust there. Plenty of body work required. The good news is that there are a plethora of new parts (including body) available for these things, so it's really just a function of time and money. Do it.

Looks like the frame horns have been "bobbed" to fit that plow on.

The rockers are gone....outer and inner.....not rusted...I'm talk'n GONE.....

A very very BIG project to take on.

Yeah, it would be great if you could pick it up a bit cheaper but at least you have something there to work with and that's better than not having one at all. You are a mechanic so probably have the skills and patience for a lengthy project - I'm not sure I'd let the plow set-up discourage me on an older project like that. I purchased an older F150 from a guy that used it to plow and I've been driving the thing for three years with no issues. I'd probably drop the $950 if he doesn't negotiate at all - especially if they are hard to find in your region.

Good luck and post more photos if/when you get it home! ;)

Wouldn't hurt to look at it in person and see whats underneath. Thanks Techstudent for the encouragement. Looks like basically everything I could ever need is available to get. Like you said "that's better than not having one at all"

I personally would salvage every possible nick nack part and if the frame is salvageable use that-- the rest is just scrap at best. $450 would be my tops. You would be better buying another unless you just love wasting money :)

I would keep saving your cash and be patient. If EB's are rare in your area, save your money and buy in the US. I didn't see what your intentions were, crawler, weekend driver, etc..........if you want one to push snow with you found it. I think you can do better.

i live in b.c and ive seen 5 EB's in my 35 years on this earth lol, I paid 800 bucks for the one in the first pic, I managed to save nothing but the frame, and rear axle. the second pic is what it looks like now after 2 years (I'd be faster but I got two kids under 3 lol) ive managed to get rust free parts and a fiberglass tub for very little (I'm maybe in 2500-3000 total including the 800 for the first wreck), you can do it if your resourceful and you got time, but looking back, I woulda bought one better in the first place if I could've found one.
