Have seen Detroits do that for 30 years and heard of them doing that far longer. Never been sure what the reasons were. The first one was in a friend's EB with a 351c and C6 auto. And even with all that power available, Royce typically had a very light right foot.
Broke it on the way to work one morning. Can't remember for sure, but I think he might have mentioned having had one do that before. Been a long time though.
Sorry you guys are having the same issue. Bad thing about every company that has owned the Detroit Locker name is customer service for mere civilians has been next to non-existant. Trachtech was no easier to corner on an issue. At least they make the TrueTrac (sp?) which is a great limited-slip and doesn't seem to break very often.
The good news is that even if you do manage to break a Yukon, they're very good at standing behind theirs and warrantying it. And they answer the phones on a very regular basis too!
They're geared (pun intended) more towards the retail market anyway, while Eaton is geared more towards talking to the big guys in the room. If you work for GM or the Army, you probably get a call back.
That said, I did talk to a Trachtech rep once.
