jeez... I dream of welds that nice.
I'll NEVER show my welds on here.
TOO embarrassing!

I am with you, i dont like to show my welds. There are some OCD weld inspectors on here like we are building space ships.

muah ha ha haa. But heck...its ABS and gummint inspectors that are all over our stuff. :-X

I just finished TIG welding some stainless exhaust flex joints to stainless 90-degree elbows a few minutes ago. Ick..there was obviously a lot of residue from some kind of assembly lube where the flex joints were swaged together on each end.

Sheet metal may be one of the hardest things to weld period. Old rusty metal thin full of contamination.

hey protecting your pastries is very important when you among a group of bronco brothers! My next project is a heated roll cage. Nothing beats warm dognuts!

Oooooh! Warm gooey cinnamon rolls and hot coffee while bashing through the snow! I like your idea! :D

Looks excellent!

Now go for some vertical and overhead tests...

A good test for fillets is to run a single pass root and then do a clip test.

Looks good. I used to teach a welding class and many students could not do that after nearly a year of instruction....you would be surprised how tough it is for some folks to pick up the skill and on the other hand there are those that can get the basics down in just a few weeks.....;)

These are mig welds. The top was a mild bevel the second was more aggressive. The second had too low of speed for that bevel. Both single passes on one side only. Lincoln sp175 argon co2 er70s-3

Which welder are you using?
