Dimensions - 6.2L VS 5.0L Coyote

I would consider Installing a 6.2L engine in a Bronco or my F100.

I can easily find the Engine Dimensions of the 5.0L Coyote but cannot find any measurements of the 6.2L. Being a truck engine it seems to be better suited for a Bronco. It looks like it may be taller, but not being and DOHC I was hoping is was not as wide as the coyote.

Anybody have the measurements of the 6.2l so I can compare?

Thanks

No dimensions for you but it looked like it completely filled the engine bay of my f250 that I had for a while.

The 5.0 has a has that really short intake that fits in Mustangs. I recall the 6.2 has a really tall intake that goes to the hood on the trucks.

I think height will be your biggest issue

Actually thinking about the install in my 71 F-100, 4X4 Short Bed.

The 6.2L does look taller, but the Power Steering pump is on the correct, drivers side, and would be better suited for a Truck than the 5.0l Coyote.

I'll talk with Fat Fender Restorations to see what they think. They are the Coyote F100 gurus.

For the F100 I would hold out for the 7.3
I am debating if I should do a stroker to the 460 or just drop in a 7.3
Since the 7.3 doesn't exist yet, I can't do it, but I am not ready to build a stroker either, so both are still on the table for me. Well on the menu, none are actually on the table.

The 7.3 would be on my list as well. Not a bad choice. Ford will come out with a Power Pack for a 7.3 Crate at some point.

No Measurements at all???

Does anybody have a 2011-14 Raptor with the 6.2L that can take some measurements for me?

I need to know how much taller the 6.2L is since it has the T-Body on the top compared to the 5.0L Coyote that has the T-Body on the front.

How much longer is the 6.2l compared to the 5.0l Coyote?

I still can't find any measurements online.

You might just have to hit up a local dealer and measure it up yourself. Not everything is available online.

2014 Raptor

Edge of valve cover to valve cover 28"
Back of intake to front of harmonic balancer 28"
Top of intake to bottom of engine block rail 27.5"
Bottom of engine block to bottom of oil pan 7.5"

Close as I could get for you in the rain.

I have several friends with raptors. If you like I can meet up with one of them later this week and take any measurements you wish me to take. Let me know and I will get on it..

Compared to the Mustang Coyote the 6.2l seems to be about 5 inches Longer and 5 inches taller. About the same width. This may be too big for my F100 as well.

I like your idea. While traveling this weekend in my (late in the year) 2010 Raptor with the 6.2 liter I was impressed with the fact that I was going 83 MPH at 2,250 RPM's with 37" tires and 4:10 gears. That would be sweet in some old school american iron for sure!
