Does a heavy front bumper affect suspension height?

My 74 has stock suspension, 2" BL, but the fenders have been cut pretty high, so I run 33s easily and the bronco sits level.

I'm planning on getting a 0" Suspension lift from Tom's and a Tom's Impact front bumper and I was wondering if that bumper weight will affect the stance, lowering the front end? So, would I need a suspension lift on the front?

I'm also getting a heavy bumper on the rear, so would that balance it out?

Thanks, Jim!

Yes, heavy bumpers will change ride height. But I don't think that bumper is as heavy as you are thinking it is. Are you planning on a winch as well? That will add weight (probably doubling the bumper weight if not more).

I don't think you are going to need to change suspension plans.
There are a lot of variables in Bronco weight. What engine, what intake on the engine, has the battery been relocated, are you running multiple batteries, do you have A/C, what hood are you running. The list goes on forever.

Short wheelbase and soft springs are going to make changes in attitude more noticeable. There is no fixed answer until you try it on your specific vehicle.

When we made our coils we figured on 150 lbs for wench and bumper would cause 1/2" of sag. So we made them 1/2" taller. Lighter would be less and heaver would need more for the front and read to set level.

Thanks Chuck. I may go with your coils then. But I'm so cheap when it comes to shipping! ;D

I understand that! The only good part is if you want shorter or taller I will exchange them but you have to pay shipping every time.:)
