duff still makes them, but their finish on them doesn't hold up worth a crap and they won't stand behind them. i plan on going warflares when the time comes for new ones.

Wow Ben, wake up on the wrong side of the bed ?

I am running the Duff white urethane flares on my truck they have held up well to the abuse I have done to them. The finish for a bought finished product has held up fine.

Don't have the Duff flares myself, but have seen what they will take and was impressed. Notice what the tire did to the flare, and it bounced back as if it were never touched.

I'll have to look again. I thought that they only did the fiberglass and UFO flares. I have bushwhackers up front but they don't take paint well.

I think the ufo flares are urethane....? I have a set of those, first thing i did was twist one into a pretzel, and pop, went back to original shape!

Thats the same thing I did.
They are so flexible its like they beg you to tie them in a knot.

I am not 100% happy with the finish on mine either but they still look good.

Not to change the subject off urethane flares but.... I've see the Gorilla Warflares on Tito's Bronco(along with a couple others) take abuse that would have destroyed other flares not to mention sheet metal!! I'm not sure on how they hold up to paint, but I'm sold either way!!

Ben, Lest you forget those are the ATF Flares that you got a smoking deal on back in 2005. They were sent out at that price because they were blems. They were called ATF= Almost There Flare which meant they were almost what we wanted from the manufacturer but not quite, thus why we sold them to you for a steal. The UFO's are solid black material all the way through.

Ok so if the UFO's are urethane, What were the non fiberglass flares that duff sold before the UFO's? They were more ridged than UFO's and kinda yellowish from the backside. I want something that can be painted. My bushwackers on the front looked good when I painted them but the paint blistered off within a few weeks.

There is some type of additive you can put in the paint to make it flexible when it dries. Dont ask me what it is though, havent gotten that far in my build yet.

The Bushwackers on my Bronco are painted body color, and have been for over four years; they still look great. The paint need to have a flex agent added to it prior to application.

Pictures are in my gallery.

Honorio,

That was a bullshit alarm I had-- for some reason it just wore out-- can't imagine why with how much I encounter!?!

As far as the flares go-- before UFO's were just our regular urethane flares, flexible but not solid black all through.

Any of our Urethane flares can be painted with a flex agent. Even the white ones on Loco were painted white Pearl to match the paint. Any good paint shop should be able to hook you up with flex agent. The other trick is just not getting it too thick. Too much clear can cause cracking...

Suzy

Ya, and on Ben's deal... $75 for a set of flares, you figure it out. Needless to say there won't be any more of those deals going out...
