Finishing my rotisserie today, want to pull motor before I pull body off. What is the easiest way to accomplish this ? I have a NP435, do you seperate bell housing from transmission and pull that way or what ?

I always seperate the motor from the bell housing, it keeps the throwout bearing in place and it doesnt break the front transmission bearing retainer, which has happened I've been told...

If your taking the body off why would you want the motor out first? It is very easy to pull the body over the motor. Much easer to pull the motor after the body is off.

I agree with that. Tuesday I need to to do an engine swap. My plan is to lift the body off the frame. Of course it is a newer truck, but still not having to work aroud the body will make it easier.

Once the body is off, just take the engine and trans out as one piece. And from previous experience, I prefer seperating the bellhousing from the block. I have had issues with clutch forks and throw out bearings that required an extra transmission removalto fit that would not have occured if I would have pulled the bellhousing with the transmission.
