What is the material from the factory that fills/foams the gaps in the top of the striker/door post? I'm replacing mine and would like to use the same 'stuff'.

Thanks,
Chris

When I did mine , the gaps were filled with I think seam sealer , and a lot of it .
Some seam sealers lay down , some you can sculpt and shape.
I didn't like that so I filled my new gaps with weld , being carefull not to put to much heat into the new panels.

Good luck on your project .

It is a seam sealer that comes in rope-like strips that is formable like putty.

I'll try to remember to take a pic of a box when I'm out in the shop later.

google 3m strip caulk 08578 for the putty like formable for larger voids.

I also use 3m 08500 all around seam sealer I the caulking tube as well as a brushable seam sealer 8 get from Eastwood that 3m also offers a compatible item of.
