I'm going to give this a shot. I'm tired of messing with the hard seals and the glue not working.

Curious how many feet did you buy? Looks like a really clean install.

A 15 foot piece will do the top section of both sides. I didn’t measure the bottom, just bought a bunch of the stuff in case I decide to do the liftgate.

i have over a dozen sets of DC upper and lower door seals and they seem to not work right. I will try this option.

What’s the rubber-like checker plate material you used on the door sill? Would you recommend it?

Thank you, Slowleak....I finally got my roof back on for the winter and upgraded the upper seals. Not only does this cut down on the wind noise, but it has solved the problem of cutting the seals to take the roof off only to have to glue on a new set when putting the roof back on. I believe I will be able to peel off the upper seals prior to removing the roof and hopefully just reuse them next winter. I almost had enough to make a second set of lengths for running without the roof - just the section between the windshield and the door. I have purchased another 15' length to accomplish this. I am considering upgrading the lower seals but I am reluctant to cut the rubber blocks from the rest. I also got the 1/4 x 1/8" tape for the insides of the doors but have not added yet. Thanks for posting about this.

curious why you wouldn't just leave them on?? Are the 45* mitered corners glued back together after they're cut and placed??

i did the doors and lift gate. i have to say probably one of the best upgrades so far...
i mitered and glued the corners (not planning on taking the top off) and used the blocks from the old seals. glued the new seals to the old blocks using black RTV. also built up the material around the blocks with some scrap neoprene and skimmed it with RTV.

it is as air tight as a bronco will ever be that's for sure.

slowleak - do you have a SKU/ part # for the 1/8 x 1/4 you used for the door window frames and maybe a pic of it installed?
thanks

Papy, you did exactly what I did. Post #20 in this thread has a picture and a link to Amazon where I got the stuff for the window frame. I have since upgraded to a bulb type seal. Here is the link to it and a picture. Either of those will really help with wind noise. The bulb type is thicker but hollow, so it seals really well.

This is the bulb type

Great job Slowleak, this is one of the best upgrades a person can do, I know the 77's came with that type of molding on the upper door seals which made a big difference

Thanks Brandy. Door seals have always been a bit of an obsession for me.

Before I took my doors apart they also had the seal above the glass, I figures it was factory ford because it fit so nice. Great looking job Slowleak.
