I just recently took the hard top off the bronco and I want to replace the door seals and window seals. What kind of glue is best to use and how should I remove them. Any advice on this or am I over complicating things. Also i've been looking at different kits to buy and not sure which I should use. Can anyone help me out? Thanks!

Choose carefully as I have heard some guys here complain about some being too thick making door shutting tough.

Got mine from Jeff's, it took a little while for them to compress, but they are great now. They get them from Dennis Carpenter so you can compare prices. I used the yellow weatherstrip adhesive, I think made by 3M. You can get it at any parts house.

What other options would one have other than to buy what the vendors sell? I will need to replace all of mine soon right after I finish painting.

There is only one brand of door weatherstrip seals that work. Well I guess they all work, but it depends on if you want your doors to close or not.

"METRO SOFT SEAL"

They are about double the price of all the vendors seal, but they work. Find them on Amazon for the best prices.

I wonder why the vendors don't carry them or do they?

I will start looking now as I have time to shop before I need them. Thanks

I have heard good things about Soft Seal as well.
While there are many brands of these seals there is only a few maybe just two rubber durometers (how hard rubber is) used.
Soft Seal is apparently the softer stuff and us eb guys apparently need that softer stuff.
There may be other brands that use the softer stuff too.

Are you saying Metro seals are better?

Yep, that's what I'm saying. Plus most of the NOS rubber that I have seen lately is starting to get hard and is loosing its flexibility. Since most of it is 30-40 years old now

I have used 3m black adhesive in the past. Worked well, one trick is to put a very thin film of the adhesive on the weather strip to b installed and let it dry. It seems to except the bond later when more adhesive is applied between the body and strip.

I used the WH and also their 3M black adhesive. It all went on easy but now the doors are hard to close. They are getting better week by week.
