Just lately ive noticed a jingle and my driveshaft. Well today it got loud enough to sound like i was dragging bells around so i looked underneath and theres a ring right where the drive shaft goes into the pumpkin just hanging a little loose. Nothing looks damaged or broken So i threw a buncha grease on it but it made no difference... So whats missing to keep this thing from jingling? A nylon or rubber washer of some sort?

Its annoying, and i want it to stop. help??

It's broke , mine did the same thing . I think it's pressed on the yoke . I just used some black silicone & it's been fine .. over 4 years ago .

If it looks like a big washer, kinda bent, then it's a dust shield for the differential pinion bearing. This dust shield is between the differential and the rear yoke. Mine broke loose also. When I had the Detroit installed the guy just welded it back on. Not heavy welds because it just deflects material away from the bearing and seal. Almost anything to hold it in place will be okay. The silicone idea will work if you let it sit over night (long enough to dry) Keep the shield as close the the differential as you can without touching it.
