I have been looking at that, as well. No clean up! Nobody around here (Jackson, MS) has it. My second choice is soda blasting. Although, if I can find a place to get it dipped, that would be cool too.

the dry ice is nice because there is nothing to be left in the seams, or crevaces, like with sand, soda, or even having the body acid dipped (or whatever it is called)

I know they do a lot of it at my base for aircraft restoration at the AF museum. I'd love to get to know those guys and haul my Bronco over there. For some reason I don't think they'd approve of that however.

Dude, they dip right down the street from you and E-coat too!!!! Wish like hell they were in Atlanta!!

Metal Finishing Services
Here's the reply I got from them last year for my project. It's expensive, but will never rust again..
To strip and E-coat the bare body is $1750.Hood is $ 285, tailgate $135. Other parts we need to see. To strip, derust, powder coat (black) & e-coat the frame would be $900. Turnaround is usually 6 weeks.

Hog, who were you looking at in Atlantafor the blasting?

Rustbucket, David Church at Metal Finishing (over off of 220 on Boiling street) services can hook you up on a dip. 800 bucks for the tub, soda blasting will not be that cheap. just google redi strip jackson ms and he should come up. i have some parts over there right now, stripping the bronco to take the tub over next.

David's the one that gave me that quote. Does the e-coat add that much to the cost of the tub??? The link above is their site..

They are using it in homes with mold repair. Blasting the mold off the wood and other areas and no real clean up. kinda cool for stuff like that. pun intended.

Thanks for the heads up on Metal Finishing services guys. I'll give him a call when I get ready. Don't know when that will be, but it will probably be a year or two out. I know the owners of Systems Electro Coating in Madison. They do all the e-coating for the Nissan factory. They have offered to do my tub. But I'll check with MFS. It might turn out to be a better deal. My main concern is to get rid of ALL the rust and old paint.

I used the dry ice set up about 10 years ago at work to clean up some machinery and it did a good job. I can't remember the pricing, but the machine rental was fairly cheap, but the purchase of the dry ice was pretty expensive. You go through it pretty fast too. It took us 2 big gaylords of ice to get the machine cleaned up, but it was worth it.
Kind of like you buy a computer printer for cheap, but the ink is friggin expensive.

yes that is true. we had someone come out do a demo for us. worked very good even on machined surfaces but it was slow.
