Dual Exhaust Outlet position opinions

Ok, the Urban Legend is true, if you have straight exhaust coming out the rear of your Bronco with the top off you will get exhaust fumes. So I'm tired of smelling it. I went to my local muffler shop and had him look at what I wanted to accomplish. And with my 3 inch body lift I can run the exhaust between the body and frame and come out at a angle.
If you look at the photo, I want the tips to come out at an angle pointing down with a angled tip. My question is will I still get the exhaust fumes? Or is there a better way??

that will look really cool.

I know that the traditional way is nearly fool proof, Ya'know straight out the sides....
That set up may be pushing the limits of how far back the tips can be.
But it will be much better than now,....and it will look cool.

I think for sound and smell, out the sides begind the back tires is best . But again , there are many options.

Stock location seems to work best.

For dual exhaust, same location other side as well.

Thanks, I have seen a couple of pics on hear with them coming straight out behind the rear tire, but I was trying to get farther away from the tire as possible to not get as much debri slung on them. Also, I was looking at a 4 inch outlet, anyone running those? I don't want that "wrapping" sound some exhaust tips get.

I don't believe its just the tips that cause the rapping sound, I believe that is caused by a combination of mufflers and smaller pipes (2"). I don't like that sound either.

I used to have pipes in the configuration you are looking at in your drawing and got no exhaust fumes in the truck. Out the side with a downward angle should work just fine. It does put the tips closer to the ground and at risk for damage by limiting your approach and departure angles.

Thank you for your input, going to order the tips tonight.;D
That angle I put is a little exaggerated. They will be pointing more upward than that.

After over 30 years of duels on my Bronco I ditched them back in January and put the stock single exhaust back on and oh what a difference. I'm all about less noise now.

But here is how they were n never got the smell or fumes in the cab.

Mine used to come out there till the rocks smashed them up. Got tired of prying them back open so I just did a dump in front of the rear axle. Exhaust was not bad to my surprise.

Thanks guys, don't have exhaust fumes in the cab anymore, and it actualy not as loud in the cab now since the vacuum doesn't pull the noise back in.

Not planning on doing any rock crawling so maybe Ill be ok;)

EDIT== 3 Inch body lift on Barney
