We have tons of options...back in the day everything was custom. My closest buddy still runs his heat treated ZF output shaft that was welded up to the D20. Behind the 454 stroker I spec'd out for him back in '08??

If you wanted something different for the first 25 years you built it yourself. :)

I enjoyed those days. :)

Built not bought.

https://accutuneoffroad.com/articles/digressive-vs-linear-vs-progressive-pistons-shock-valving/

This describes the function of the digressive, linear and progressive shocks. It points out how digressive shocks are actually the opposite of what you really want is far as right quality. The reason I feel these shocks are used get decent results, is because they're trying to use a shock where a sway bar should be used. As far as true up and down vertical will travel over bumps and dips, progressive rate shocks have far superior ride quality then digressive.

I'm still wondering if this is just a conversation or is the OP still around...almost a wk now

K Bar S was late to the scene. Duff's and Hickey were the first. I visited K Bar S in Vegas in the '80s and was turned off by his insistence duel shocks and 351 Clevelands, as the only way to go. The Cleveland engines were a poor choice in '74 and after driving the duel shocked Broncos I knew that was a bad idea. The Monroe Magnum 500s and Gabriel Series Es were the only shock choices at the time.
