Thanks for sharing the pics….she looks to be in pretty good shape!! Did the warranty tag survive (located on the driver side kick panel) and did you verify the the number on the frame (hopefully is legible)……???
Great find!!!

Paul
Warranty tag is in place… going to confirm the frame this weekend, but it has been in the same family since it was purchased.

@numbr4 Port Jervis doesn't look very big, is that Texaco building still there? When I bought my 66 u14, it was originally sold in Canal Fulton, OH and came with the original owner's manual, lot's of original owner info and a ton of paperwork and literature, and enough paperwork that I could follow it with the second owner to Sacramento, CA. I was able to get on the Canal Fulton, Oh FB page and find out a lot about the dealer, location, etc and the building is still there, it's a motorcycle shop now.

Hey Okie - I did speak to the owner of the Ford dealer that bought the business back from the original (transacting) dealer in 1970. They have no records from them. The shop that owned that truck is long gone as well. It is a time capsule. Never restored - needs a drivers side A pillar post so the door can be put back on.

I can get wrapped up in map sleuthing and was looking around Port Jervis and found this.

Picture a new roof, glass in the service bays and it resembles the Texaco. Probably crazy but found it interesting!

I know the original business address - it was in the owner manual. It is no longer a service station. It was actually owned by a business across the river in PA.

Just a fluke then unless someone designed the station to emulate some of the old stations of the earlier era.

Something else that was interesting if you like the history. A quick look at Hamilton Bros popped up a 2015 obit. of a lady that worked there. Her husband later started a cable business which used a plane and helicopter in the business. She decided to take lessons and was said to have been one of few women that could fly a helicopter at the time.

Really cool Railway Station in town as well.

So number 4 has an A3 axle code.. obviously it is 4.11 limited slip. But i can’t find any site showing an A3 on a 66.

Going to go dig around for a buck tag this morning - I might jack her up and test if it is limited.

A3 is rear limited slip for sure. If you're looking at broncohio, it's got plenty of mistakes and missing info.

So this screen shot is from Tim Hulicks roadster registry. He has a vin decoder there for the roadster but same would apply to the u15 and u14s

Congrats on the find !

Odd that the earliest ones weren’t from far away Canada ,

The Earliest produced mustangs got shipped to the far away locations in Canada so they would be there and available to see on the same day as the ones in the states got unveiled .

A small update - s still searching tame for the stamped vin on the frame. I was unable to find it in the Typical location - on the passenger rail as it drops off at the toe board - I will attempt to check the rail section under the passenger seat next.

My next dream find will be a pair of early fenders with Caribbean Turquoise patina to match….
Mega millions is $400M tomorrow.

There have been a few 66' where the vin wasn't found on the frame at all, including a couple of guys here on classicbroncos. I also know of one that was found on the driver's side motor mount, might give that a look too. Other than the usual location, on the frame top behind the starter, the other locations are hard to see the vin with the body on the frame.

You already won the Bronco Lottery by finding that Bronco!! LOL…….the frame vin# can be hard to see sometimes as they were not stamped very deep and surface rust cant make them fade away……something a little wire brushing and some WD-40 will make it “pop”……I have also cleaned with a wire brush and then go over it with some sidewalk chalk….then wipe it with a rag….the chalk will fill the vin voids and help you see it……good luck with her!!!!! Let us know your findings!!
