That's my girlfriends exit off I5. Could have been deja vu all over again for me!

I'm glad the Portland Police showed some restraint back in the early eighties when someone in a black Trans Am ran over a cop, then I drove by 5 minutes later in my brown one. After they surrounded me, I had 10 shotguns and handguns pointed at me. Kudos to all 10 cops for taking the extra couple of seconds to evaluate me!

But I think if you're retreating, or still holding a gun when the cops show up, you're done! The cops are helping keep me safe from the freaks. My only complaint, or suggestion would be to let the cops engage a little sooner durnig a chase that goes on for any length of time.

90 mph in a Bronco or pointing a gun at a cop, not sure which one is more crazy. Sad story.
I've had mine to 75 occasionally - I certainly wouldn't want to do 90 even though the Bronco would do that.
Cases like this - where there's a fairly mild police record combined with crazy aggressive behavior - a lot of times are motivated by some personal "family issue ' - divorce , cheating wife , etc.
I feel sorry for the guys family - and the cop who had to shoot him . Has to be a traumatic experience.
I haven't heard any negative comments from the local media about a cop shooting a guy who pointed a gun at him - it was the EB owner who decided to go that route.

Sounds like a classic case of "suicide by cop".

If you want to kill yourself then figure out a way to do it that doesn't force some poor damn cop to take you out.
Often times an LEO is never quite the same after having to kill some one.....sad really....

I guess I should caveat my previous statement with if you want to commit suicide get help, don't use a permanent solution to solve what is almost always a temporary problem.
