find some old codgers to tell some stories of wayback.

first date picking up the future wife in their bronco back in the 60s/70s, going fishing with the old man in the family truck (that they inherited) and pulling in the big one only to have a seagull grab it once it was in the boat, war stories followed by coming back to find families of cats taken residence in their trucks....period stories where the Bronco may be simply a part of the scenery of a retro story of simpler times.

these are the stories I find most intriguing. simple stories from before things went sideways where the Bronco is simply one of the characters.

My $.02:
I listen to a lot of podcasts. One annoying thing I've noticed is that a lot of hosts tend to talk over their guests, presumably to avoid dead air. It can get frustrating when the host doesn't allow the guest to answer their question, for example.
I think Jon from this forum would be a great guest. I've been on the forum since '04, and am curious how it got started, whether he'd expected it to grow to this point, etc.
Will definitely subscribe once you're up & running!

I completely understand. Very annoying. Fortunately for listeners I am an experienced interviewer so not to worry. I don't think you will be disappointed. I am currently in talks a guest with very close ties with popular Bronco icon personalities. If it comes thru I think it will be very entertaining. I think that your idea is fantastic and is also on the list. I would be definitely contacting him if he doesn't mind.

I'd prefer more stories personally. There are sooo many tech and how to articles/videos out there. I realize you'd be doing this but maybe sprinkle in some general interest pieces like:

Interesting road trips with breakdowns and how people fixed them on the road.
Interview someone on how to start up a Bronco meet up or club in their area if there isn't one already.
Interview a history buff who can tell the listeners how to identify the difference between the production years.
Broncos in the movies.
Awesome lady Bronco owners ;)
Stories with original owners, or multi generational Broncos.
etc etc etc

After my conversation with my upcoming interview guest this may be taking an interesting turn in the direction of the podcast. I think the direction for this series is going to very organic and i will let it grow into what it wants to be. There will be a focus on the 4x4's and keep it less techy, and more informational and anecdotal. Nothing is set in stone, but after the conversation I had today, I am even more enthusiastic about getting this out of the gate. Thanks for all the input so far from everyone!

.. Wow sounds interesting to me. & I don't really know what a pod cast is..
BUT
Back when I had my parts store & I sold DuPoint paint. After 20 years of paint experience If some one was working on a real paint job .
I got to where I'd tell Mr Customer .. Your about to spend a bunch of cash on paint product. When can you com in to my store & I'll give you a speach on how to use this primer or the PAINT .. hOW each reducer affects what your doing .
I tried to not go more that 30 minutes on a section because I felt 30 minutes was more than anyone could retain that much info.
... I'd do it on body repair
.. Bondo mixing & different kind of Bondo for different repairs . EVEN THE EFFECT of different sand papers .
Mixing & spraying different primers .
& PAINTING The Paint & How to handle about 40 little issues or problems that can occur .. When to stop & when to keep going .
Wish I STILL understood paint . but It's been 20 years & I'm a little behind the curve.

Pa Pitt - Ha! I'm with you. I knew the term Podcast but had to Google the definition. Now I have a 5 minute education in it. I've learned this needs to be a Vodcast. And yes, after 30 minutes the speaker has to keep me wanting to listen.

KSM - I'd prefer personal stories too. Being from Oregon, it would be fun to track down the 3? guys that started the Bronco gatherings on the beach. It started as "Son O Beach", then got too big? and turned into "The Unevent", now relocated and known as "The Northwest Bronco Roundup". I'll bet they have some great stories to tell, and some they shouldn't! ;D Kudos to them as hundreds of Broncos come every year to the Roundup.

The first podcast is in the books. I don't think you will be disappointed. If you don't chuckle out loud I would be surprised. It is an audio only podcast. i will work on getting it to youtube but there is a little more involved with that. Plus my interview subject was only available over the phone. Enjoy! It is 35 minutes long and Tom was incredible. He is 80 years old and is having health issues. He is a great guy and I was truly humbled to be able to talk to him. Let me know what you think. Your feedback is important because I don't want this to be my show but YOUR show. Tom definitely is enthusiastic and wants to do more but on the drag scene which I am totally down with.
