EFI air filter which one?

Got some questions on what everyone is running for air filters with their EFI setup.

I noticed via searching that several different shapes are being used and it appears different makes as well.

What size is everyone running? I was looking at an oil less AEM 21-204DK or the 21-2049DK. Will a 6 inch diameter filter have hood clearance issues? Plan to have it sit on top of the inner fender well with the radiator overflow bottle. I'm using an explorer intake hose so it's flexible to an extent. I already have a 3.5 inch adaptor for the Explorer mass air sensor so all I need is a filter.

Whichever filter you decide on, make sure it will flow a sufficient CFM for your engine. Don't pick a filter just because it looks "cute", or fits the available space.

Steve83, yeah seen some of your posts on that. Can't run my intake on that side due to the brake booster and I don't want to move the battery top the driver side. Love the idea....just not for me at this time.

Good point and the "cute" factor has never come into play with me. I'm about functionality. Not even getting the red color, I'm going black/gray. Just not sure if I need to go 6 inch or 5 inch diameter.

I am using this to come off the intake, then I bought a K&N 3130. Which are like 40 dollars or so on ebay and amazon. I bent the tabs on the mount and it should work for me as well. I will end up cutting a lot of the pipe, but the kit is a good base.

BC Broncs makes a custom airbox, if you are wheeling hard and want to keep the filter clean.

I really like the BCB filter. Nice angle to it, dry filter, perfect fitment, not too long. Not sure their source, but price seems more than reasonable for what you get...

You did see in that photo that the battery is still on the passenger side, right? %) And later, that truck got the big booster. There was very minor interference with the hard pipe, and Frank decided he liked the look of the flex hose better.

Yes, I looked at that. I really don't need the offset. Is that a 5 inch or a 6 inch diameter filter? Looks to be what 7 maybe 9 inches? As as said, WOW clean....

I should have explained better......my bad

The brake booster is manageable but in the way. The fuel rail (specifically the fuel pressure regulator) will not allow me to run the GT40 Explorer intake swapped to the D-side.

Noting moving the battery was in reference to the next logical question of why not move the battery and put the air box in it's place.

I don't want to re-engineer the wheel at this point. I like your setup but it's not going to work for me. I have everything in place but for an air filter. Was hoping I could get a feel for what diameter would work.
