EFI Computer box compatible with heater cables?

So I have a computer box out of an Escape, ready to start slicing my firewall and get it mounted. It's my understanding that most folks mount it in the center inset area of the firewall, where majority of box sits inside cab. Here's my question, how do you mount the box so it fits alongside all the cables / defrost ducts that sit on top of heater box? It seems to me that it's going to be a very, very tight fit...if it does at all.

Thanks!

Mine isn't mounted. It's wedged on top of the heater. You're right, there isn't much room behind the dash.

I neglected to mention that I was mounting an Explorer ECM, and not a Mustang-style.

For anyone reading this in the future wondering the same thing, I went ahead and cut the firewall to mount the Escape box, and it seems to not be as cramped as I thought it would be. I still have to button it down, but the heater cables and defrost ducts seem to fit OK.

Sure thing, Gpops. I'm doing this on mobile, but I'll give it a shot.

On one I helped with we trimmed the upper flange so we could mount it a littler higher.

Otherwise that heater cable can get a little cranky / kinky.

Areostar Van Mount... Yes it is a little busy back there on both sides. I also have Vintage air A/C to contend with... so no factory heater cable.
You can mount the bracket just a little higher, so the heater cable hole is not affected...

Spareparts, it's my understanding that anything pre-2004 will work. The right one will have (1) large connector and not (3) smaller ones. The Escape box is the same one as the Explorer, it's just much easier to remove.
