efi harness firewall grommet question

so does the heater box need to come out when you cut the hole for the harness. can you get the plug passed over the top of heater box. and does anyone have any pics of the way you mounted your ecm. been thinking of a mount using the old speaker holes.

I pulled the heater when I did mine... Makes working a little easier, the harness is kinda stiff. I mounted my ECM to the bottom of the cowl,behind the speaker grill ,in a bracket I made. Sorry no pics though. Good luck;D

On Frank's, I plated off the driver's vent & punched the EEC thru the firewall. It's high & dry.

I left the heater in and drilled 2 holes with 1-1/2 inch holesaw above the heater lines.I removed the glovebox liner and wraped the ecm with a couple passes of self sticking weatherstripping to eliminate any possible rattles and squeaks.Mounted it behind speaker grill with a simple u shape bracket and two self drilling screws.It was easy
