EFI on 347 stroker

What do you guys suggest a good EFI set up for a 347 stroker? I've heard I need to go with a aftermarket performance intake, and like 30 lbs injectors.. i was wondering if i could run fuel rails instead of injectors? and would that be a good idea or what? i wanna hear from the contemporary to "trick" set ups...

what do you mean by "just run fuel rails??" If you dont have the cash then just do the stock 5.0 efi setup with mass air. If you have the cash then go with the ford efi truck upper/lower or edlebrok/trickflow type manifolds, as for injectors I would think that 24s would be fine.

fuel rail is full of pressurized fuel... It supplies the fuel to each injector...

ohhh i see.. cause i was reading somethign that lead me to believe they replaced injectors.. i guess it was the wording. said something like: "gets rid of the back pulsing experienced with bigger injectors" or something of the like... so would somethign like a trickflow intake, mass air system with 30 lbs injectors be the way to go?

you should be fine with 24`s(i happen to have an extra set ;D )but 30`s will work.my 408 will require at least 36`s but i`ll go with 42`s.i would recommend the 1/2" billet fuel rails (but stock 5.0 will work)and at least an explorer intake (let that beast breathe ;) )65-70mm throttle body with at least a 73mm maf. everything else stock from the 5.0 should be fine.

Here is a formula to figure out what injector size you need. Injector flow rate (lb-hr)= Engine HorsepowerXBSFC/Number of injectorsX0.8

HP= realistic estimate of engine power
BSFC= Brake specific fuel consumption. Which is usually
0.5
0.8= Practical injector duty cycle. You don't want 100%.
Anything more than 80% could overheat your
injectors.

So to find the injector size for an engine with 500hp:
Injector flow rate = 500 x 0.5/8x0.8=250/6.4
= 39.061b-hr injector

Some input on stock vs. aftermarket EFI. I have a Scout with a stroked Chrysler 440 to a 497 and Electromotive multiport EFI. It requires constant monitoring and laptop link to maitain its performance. According to Electromotive, this is the nature of the beast to be tempromental. I decided to go with a more reliable system on the Bronco and thus chose to use the stock Ford GT/Explorer setup and its computer so I could spend more time wheelin instead of running diagnostics.
