EFI swap speedo cable questions?

In the process of putting together a junkyard FI swap. Getting to the point of needing the speedo set-up. I've got the new vss and I see that Ron Morris wants 60$ for the vss to stock speedo head cable. Is this the way to go or is there a cheaper better alternative that I am unaware of.
Thanks
Erik

Unless your swap requires it, dont do it. I left this thing off of mine. Its a 93 stang setup from summit. My wiring from the 87 Lincoln I was going to use was wasted.

In answer to my own question. Yes there is a cheaper and I feel better alternative. Bring the new VSS to the local big rig supply house or anywhere they make control cables and tell you want to go from the VSS plug in to old style speedo head and you want the cable to be 78 inches long. Total to me 20$, much better than 60$ plus shipping.

Why do you feel you need the VSS? Most of us run without it with no ill effects.

I've run with it and with out it, when I ran it I was able to use the wish bone holding part off the stock E.B. part in the t.case on the V.S.S. and used a Mustang 5.0 speedo cable.

I'm aware that most everyone runs without the VSS hooked up and feels no ill effects. Here's why I'm going to run it. Someone, ie FORD but a fair amount of developmental effort into the the stock FI system and they put the VSS on for a reason. I'm guessing some of you know more than I do about the Ford code than I do and how the computer uses or doesn't the VSS signal, but unless you've run with and without and datalogged it you don't really know how it's effecting it.

The parts are
1Cheap (30$ for VSS, 20$ for new cable, 15$,for new connectors if you didn't pull them with your harness)
2Bolt In
3Designed to be utilized in the system, not exactly sure how but see previous items 1 and 2
