I'm rebuilding my 74 302 motocraft 2100 carb.id like to eliminate the egr valve back section that bolts on the spacer plate.id like to just close this off with something as I have no other egr components on and don't need it.but from what ive read its more involved then that.can I get a new spacer plate and gaskets upper and bottom for a 74 with the egr intake for a 2100.

You can simply search ebey for Ford EGR delete plate. The '74 is narrower and shorter than the one used in the '80s. Mine has bolt holes about 2.85" apart. You can put the EGR back on over it too, if emission laws require it. The engine will think the EGR is gone.

On the EGR manifolds, the hole in the carb mounting surface that opens to the exhaust cross over, is too close to the passenger side edge to be sealed with a non EGR spacer. It will leave a noisy exhaust leak. The non EGR spacer will only work with a non EGR intake. These are less expensive in junk yards than a set of intake gaskets. So, tho my suggested EGR block off plate will work with your present intake,in the long term a non EGR intake and the spacer from "vintage bronco" would be the way to go. That is if you don't have emission laws that require the EGR to be there.

Does this type of spacer have just the two round holes in the back edge? If so, is there an appropriately sized "freeze plug" type thingy that can be press fit into the holes to just block them off?

i was about to contact ' vintage bronco' about the size of the non egr spacer until i read jckkys post which makes me believe it would not be correct size. i already had the intake manifiold off to replace a lifter and rod and put back together so i dont really want to replace it with a non egr intake.seems to me this would be a perfect item for venders to produce a non egr spacer for a egr manifold.seems i may just have to go to a machine shop and get one made $$ or just plate off the outer portion and not worry about the exhaust gases in the intake.this is a work in progress and hasnt been inspected since 99 so this is just one issue i need to overcome to move along.thank to all for your knowledge im just learning the basic not a motor head just a broncoholic.
