Should be 4 wires. the 2 wires that have continuity in nuetral and park are teh nuetral safety switch. the other 2 wires will have continuity in reverse, those turn on the reverse lights.
TV cable must be properly installed and adjusted for the AOD to work. Improper installation can result in transmission damage by the time you make it around the block. Possibly before you leave the garage if you try loading the engine while not moving.
Ray think of the tv cable like a kickdown cable. It functions much the same way, although it is much more sensitive to setup. I said sensitive, not difficult. You don't have to wire any of the switches if you don't want to.
