Yeah, I've had the same problem for years on my vintage mustang and bronco, there's a few suppliers online with oem connectors but I always just ended up reusing old oem sections of wiring and connector from the junkyard or my other cars and splicing, or I just cut the stock bullets off and use generic connectors.

In a pinch, I just pushed an awl up through the connector and enlarged the male end to fit the female. Mechanical viagra....

The color of the insulation only indicates the size of the WIRE that fits into the back of the terminal. It says NOTHING about the terminal's shape or size. Measure the ID of the female terminals (vernier caliper, drill bit, or ruler), and then shop for male terminals in that range. There are only ~3 standard sizes for bullet connectors, so it shouldn't take long to figure out which size you need. Remember that those old ones could have been bent wide over the years, so make sure they're not distorted before measuring. If they ARE bent, just crush them back down to size & shape with pliers. That may be enough to make the bullets you have fit.

THEN you can choose what wire size you want to use with them...

I had a bunch of male/female connectors left over from my painless wiring turn markers and I also need a couple of those male terminals. I used a knife and my belt sander and got rid of the female part and voila. And you can get the 2 conductor connectors from U-pull yards by just pulling the tail lights.
