Originally, the valve covers, block, intake, exhaust manifolds, and front cover were all painted Ford blue and not very neatly. It was done quickly in the engine plant and sent to the chassis line. Power steering and whatever front additions called for to belt assembly were added and installed. Almost every restoration I have seen of any vehicle from this era is a lot nicer than the factory was under the hood. The factory didn't really think much about making it pretty under there.....

You could do some of both in the engine bay, body color and black. I like black engine and silver/gray accents. The black is easily repaired and touched up also.

since my trim is going to be semi gloss black, I am thinking a mixture of semi-gloss black and silver/gray/alum. the brackets will be black along with the valve covers and the intakes will be silver. the plate on top of the intake will be painted body color either as background or the lettering will be body color. getting everything cleaned up this week to take to the powder coat company. they gave me a decent price on coating everything.
