I know this has probably been knocked around but I was wondering. Should I paint my engine bay black or body color. I just ain't sure.

I like them just like Ford made them, body color with a blue engine!

Did mine black cuz my engine was in the truck when I painted the body, and I didn't feel like cleaning the engine bay very well.

I personally think that body color looks better, but with all the bugs, oil, and antifreeze splattered around my engine bay, I'm glad I didn't go with it. If you're going with a darker body color, it ain't such a big deal, but lighter paint will look terrible if you don't keep it clean imo.

Body color is my preference. Don't do bed liner - it holds dirt and oil.

The assembly plants were given the latitude to pick engine bay colors on Falcons and Fairlane until mid '62. Bronco was always body color. Mine's black and I regret it. It's just too Chevy.

Agreed. I had my last one painted black.

Body color looks better, if not driven much, sits in a museum, or one doesn't mind cleaning in there.

Body color, black is the cheap cover it up option.

I have seen so many, crappy rattle can attempts, done in black, and have failed miserably.

I did see where under the cowl (cowl was body color) was high gloss black and properly blocked and wet sanded. It looked really good. This was also on a 100K resto.

First choice...body color!
