Engine ideas

My 1977 is a daily driver and runs great (oil leak from rear main but nothing crazy). I was thinking about buying a block, getting it machined , then assembling it in my garage. Just something to do. Like I said, this is a daily driver, I dont offroad, my Bronco is very quiet and I will keep it that way. My question is, what heads should I be hunting down? I will be going to FITECH in the future.

GT40 will get you exhaust manifold or header options over then p's. If I had the choice and they were the same price, I would choose them.

Buy the whole motor with the heads you want on it. The roller motors are a much better motor right out of the box. If lucky and get a low mileages unit you may just have to ball hone the block and have the valves reground rather than build from scratch. a little more money up front to get a used low mileage motor but may save quire a bit when its done.

That kinda what I started doing, if I can find an Explorer for cheap, I will just yank the motor, put a manifold and FITECH on it and be done

Definetly want the manifolds, I am too old for headers.;D
