Explorer crossover coolant line

So I’m using a 99 explorer motor on my 66 build. The coolant crossover tubes are rusted pretty bad and I need to replace them. The one I have has a fitting that screws into the intake. I found a NOS one on eBay for a 96-97 explorer motor but it has a different type of fitting on the end with orings instead of threads. Is there a way to adapt this one to work? How do these actually attach to the intake? Or does the threaded piece slide off of the o rings and can be swapped over to the new one?

I hate to admit this but about twenty years ago I used Home Depot pipe fittings and made my crossover tube. Paint it black and it's totally kustum!

It appears you need to transfer the threaded fitting to the new piece. Never seen that before...

Wrecking yard hunting or Ford did have a listing for the last upgraded replacement. I think Tasker posted that up a while back.

Another option is to use a Mustang based set of coolant tubes. They won't have the 90* bends at the end, but are a workable option. You can buy them new from the Mustang Vendors...

I have never been able to figure out how to separate the threaded nipple from the new piece. I always thought they were factory crimped. But maybe there's a tool that allows it. Now I'm going to have to cut one open.

I’m going to look at my old one and see if I can press it off. Just thinking that maybe the three o rings are what is actually holding the threaded part on there.

Oh sweet! Do you happen to know if the new lid fitting can be pulled off the old tube and pressed on the new one from eBay I listed? Or should I just order the new fitting?

Thanks for help guys. Took about 10 minutes to swap fitting. I hope others with this same issue can find this thread and fix theirs.
