explorer serpentine swap

Hi guys, on my swap I got the 1999 mountaineer front serpentine parts and I have a question on the dip stick. Currently my dip stick is in the timing cover and I have a front sump oil pan. my block is an 1985 302 and it has a dip stick hole on the drivers side of the block with a dip stick tube and cut off rod. In order to use that side tube do I need to get a rear sump pan to check the oil? There is no place on the new cover to drill a hole for a new tube.

I am sending the block to the machine shop this week to get new aluminum heads, timing chain, camshaft, and roller rockers and they will set everything up for me and I can install the serpentine system.

You need a rear sump pan. I recommend finding either a fox body pan or an explorer pan with the matching dipstick and tube.

For Bronco use delete the front sump and front dipstick. Use a Bronco, Mustang or Explorer pan, pickup and dipstick.

Will this pan work with the driver side 5.0 / 302?
