I am trying to solve a master cylinder delima, i went to autozone and advance auto and tried to buy a replacement master cylinder, no luck, twice the size of my current master cylinder and the ports are on the wrong side, so i elected to go with the '76 f250 deal, which does not come with a push rod and my old one is attached to the old master, what is everyone else doing? i have factory '77 discs and manual brakes....tia

i have the same set up you mention. i took the stock pushrod cut it down, threaded it and machined up a internal threaded sleeve for it to thread into. this way it is lengthend and is adjustable. be sure to run a jam nut on it so it won't unadjust on you.
radius the end of the sleeve and put a dab of lube on the end of it before you put it in.

Pry the pushrod out of the old master cylinder, discard the retaining clip you just mangled, use in new master cylinder.

I reused my old rod with that same replacement.

My conversion was on a 72' drum to the disc conversion. All manual, no power.

I cannot validate yours; you will need to do that.

Mine was reused without any problem. My MC is out of a 76 F250 Camper Special.

Measure your old one from the mounting bolts and measure your new one with the rod, from the mounting bolts. This should allow you to compare.
