Evening all,
I was curious to know if anyone has taken an alternative route to regulate steering other than the factory steering stops. Just anticipating, Dana 44 with knuckles ground to stop threads, for caliper clearance. Thanks.

You don’t necessarily have to grind the knuckles down so far that you can’t get a bolt in there.
Pretty sure my 68 still has bolts, even though the holes have been ground to the point where portion of the threads are open.
But I’ll have to double check that. Maybe the bolts were left out entirely.
After all, the “steering stop“ is when the tires rub the radius arms. :)

Thanks brother. Looks like I may be headed in that direction. I’ll tack it if I need to.

A few years back I picked up some Solo Motorsports radius arms so I should be able to turn on a dime. 🤣🤪

As far as I know, they were all tack welded from the factory. Maybe some exceptions of course, but every one I’ve ever seen even back in the early years were already tack welded in a very small area.
And every one of those I ever put a wrench to, turned and broke the tack weld fairly easily.
