Fan Clearance Questions

We are getting close to the end of our frame off 72 project and we just put the body on and I need to install the shroud.

I'm running a 302 and a new BC three pass radiator. Someone before me put on a 6 blade fan and the clearance between the fan and the radiator is approximatly 1". Is this the correct spacing ?

There is a 1 3/4" spacer between the pully and the fan. I will have alot of trouble mounting my BC shroud with this spacing. I can shorten the spacer to about an inch it that's what I need to do.

Your advice is appreciated, Thanks!!

I have read that you don't want it any closer than an inch....I have mine about 1.5 inches away. You should be able to order whatever size spacer you need from Summit.

I think you can buy those spacers in about any length, just make sure you get shorter bolts. If the bolts are to long they will hit the water pump.

Do you have a 2-groove or 3-groove crank pulley? My Bronco must've had A/C at some point in it's life, which required a 3-groove. When I bought it the fan was less than 1" from the 4-core radiator, but I couldn't move the fan back because it would hit the crank pulley. I've since swapped-in a 2-groove pulley and moved the fan back.
