If I may ask < what is the primary tube size that maddog is building these in and what collector size ? ? for a high hp 408-427 to really breath right you need a minimum 1.75" primary and 1.875" is even better. my 408 dynoed 670hp with a set of kooks 1.875" stang headers. when I first installed all I had was the duff headers (1.5") and the motor lost about 50 hp and laid over about 500 rpm early. . I custom built my own 1.875 (1 7/8) in frame long tube headers which took about 30 hrs but the motor loves them everywhere in the rpm. I run the z304P heads which have the exhaust port raised .750" and a had to raise the body 1" to fit 4 1 7/8 tubes down the passenger side.

Hey guys... Glad this thread is still kicking but I've decided to go with uprights for my build. I love fenderwell headers but the more I thought about it and dealing with all the brake lines on the drivers side and possibly having breathing issues with the primary limits, I'm just going to run my competition headers up though the hood... If I even have a hood.

Some good lookin fenderwell headers on this thread though...

Well, I got lucky....We destroyed the headers on the race rig and needed to order another set from Mad Dog. Well, just so happens someone backed out on an order and there was a set on the shelf. Had them within the week! These will get ceramic coated and not wrapped like the last set.

Here are some more pics.

If my Coyote build seems nice I may have my fenderwell headers for sale.

Mad Dog Headers

I called your shop a few months ago about modifying your fenderwell headers so they didn't have a collector on them so we could alter the angle, etc for fitment since the flanges and primaries look perfect for our applications.

There are quite a few of us that could use larger ID primaries like you have built into your headers. I asked about just about buying the flanges with the shortest length of tubing after the first bend so those of us with strut mounts, etc can modify them to fit since none of the guys I know at this point can use your headers "straight out of the box". I am talking about 408 to 460 cuin engines.

Is there anyway I could chat with you again about these options?

thanks.

I think you have me confused with mad Dog headers. I was just giving the link and info that I had gotten from mad dog. They are great to talk to I do remember that.
