Fiberglass Cowl Hood venting ideas

I just had my Engine rebuilt and the mechanic told me I should get the cowl vented to help the engine. I’m wondering if anyone has any pics or ideas on how to vent the actual cowl & the passenger side air vent & the driver’s side vent

I got these from Bronco Hut a few years ago when they were still in business.

I had a hotrod shop make me some louvered panels to cover the big slots in my fiberglass hood. I dont have pics on my tablet but I can upload some later if needed.

There are a lot of different louver dies that can be used.

Kincer makes some nice louver panels for the Bronco hood. I saw the prototypes at Super Cel West in September. Might not be on their website yet but Thomas said to give them a call.

Just curious how the hood cowls will cool the engine, they both go in the cab. Seems like moving some of items in front of the grill (lights and such) would allow air into radiator.

On mine I have the driver's side vent blocked off and the scoop directly vents the engine compartment. The passenger side scoop feeds a BC Broncos Arctic Air Box connected to my 5.0 air intake.

No cuts on my FG hood..
Cuts on inner fender and a small 12" fan connected to temp sensor on intake and 18" delta PAG brushless fan with custom shroud tied to a separate probe sensor in radiator did it for me.

I got these from Bronco Hut a few years ago when they were still in business.
If Scoop's hood cowls were from Bronco Hut, there's a good chance they were made by Jason Gamroth, a member of the Colorado Early Bronco Group on Facebook.

I just cut a big hole in the back of my “cowl induction” hood. There is still some debate as to whether it makes a difference. I’ve had it like this for about 15 years now. On some bumpy roads I notice the cowl part of the hood vibrating, so maybe I should have left a 2” section in the middle of the hole.

On some bumpy roads I notice the cowl part of the hood vibrating, so maybe I should have left a 2” section in the middle of the hole.

Only pics that came close to showing the holes in the back of the hood. It came that way, and had a (Horney Horse Rescue) business' card lacquered on the underside of the hood. I think Jim from Oklahoma might of cut those holes? I have it gapped up in the front a little (easy since I use hood pins). And yes that is a bungee cord going thru the holes to hold it on the back. I was told I need to cut out the back of the cowl for it to cool the engine. So that is part of what I want to possibly match to the sides

I was kind of asking a loaded question, and see some interesting tricks everyone is using to create airflow to engine. My friend builds race motors for some of the top Pro4 race trucks and always talks about cooling systems being very simple; you need a great water pump, radiator, and airflow to radiator. These race motors are encased in truck and get virtually zero airflow to motor. In his words, the motor doesn’t need airflow, just an efficient cooling system. Hence, my suggestion to increase airflow to cooling system. I am no engineer, but I did sleep in the parking lot at a Holiday Inn Express once.
