It took that 3rd pic to tell the story, the first 2 didn't show enough to tell it wasn't stock. Very nice job,now you can run a cage and not interfer with the glove box.Well done.

I'm getting ready to make the same modification to my dash. Did you cut out the glove box and speaker grill as one piece and flip it over or did you cut them out individually and flip the locations? I have seen it done both ways and was wondering how you did it.

What color is that blue? I'm just putting mine together from a frame up and it looks pretty close to the same color.

We cut a rectangle around the box and grill then cut it down the center.. Then just swapped places.. Sanded, body puddy, paint.. Cant even tell it was cut out.. Biggest thing is make sure u have straight lines..

This is starburst metallic blue.. when u spray it it will be very bright then the brightness will die down after a couple days

Heck. I had to go back and look at them again.
I keep focusing on the speaker box. Which by the way looks great.

So do tell! How did you cut straight lines? I am assuming you meant lines straight enough to just make the center cut, switch the two and start tack welding? I would probably use a grinder and do my best, not sure if that would work. What was the method to your madness?

I had to do a double take too.

Do you plan on using that speaker grill area for anything? In that position it looks like an air vent.

Got some tape and squared it off. we left the tape on to reduce the burring of the edge.. Cut out the rectangle then down the middle. Hopefully you taped your lines straight so u can switch their positions clamp and tack weld it back it place. body puddy and a little sand paper gets the job done.. make sure u drill knew holes on the bottom of the dash for the glove box.. we used the 2 left holes and drilled 2 new on their left.. ill try to get some pictures on here after a while..

We just made the swap of places for the sake of the glove box being able to open with our new 6 point roll cage.. Thought about putting a speaker there put made a box which u can see in the pictures for the front speakers

I appreciate you posting this up. The timing couldn't be better since I'm currently pulling my dash to do this very modification. Nice work!
