Well - Took off work a little early, came home and started ripping the old gas tank out. Got everything out, saw that it would be a good idea to replace all the rubber fuel lines while I was at it. They weren't toast but they weren't good either.
Hopped in the F250 and ran to O'Reily's. Didn't realize until I got there that the filler neck is unique to say the least. Tank end is 2" and the filler neck end is 2 1/4". Ough!?@?#....they didn't have that! It's been awhile since I installed a tank and the last time I did it, I ordered all new hoses from Jeff's.
Anyway, I got the the 2 1/4 fuel line and the rest of the hoses. Got home just to find that the filler neck on the NW tank is 2". So, after a little scratching my head and taking a peak at things a little sideways, I cut a 6", straight, section of the old filler neck, greased her up a little and shoved it down into the new 2 1/4" hose. Worked like a charm.
After a little tuggin, pullin, pushin and gruntin, I finally got the new tank installed put about 5 gallons in it, fired up crazy horse, flipped the switch and everything is working fine! Thank god!
Bored and thought I would share this to whoever cares.
