Finally got engine and trans back in but now hood clearance issues?

Long story short, rebuilt the 302 and trans while body and frame were being worked on. Today we reinstalled the engine with trans and all went fairly well .. until I tried to close the hood. Body was on 1" lift and still is with new bushings front to back. Motor mounts were replaced (could this be it?) and after comparing before and after they look the same. I'm at a loss as to why the block is sitting up higher than before, so high that the distributor cap w/wires attached is bumping the hood not to mention the air cleaner. Hood was replaced with identical make as well. Some pictures before and after.

Also, this is the mount I purchased from RockAuto, https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=5404308&cc=1105456&pt=5552&jsn=7

I loosened up the engine mount and trans mount bolts and settled the engine a bit more. This helps where the distributor cap with spark plugs connected is just touching the underside of the hood. The issue I think is the air intake manifold that is 4.9" in height. I noticed the recommended per @DirtDonk is the Edelbrock Performer which comes in at 4.1 noticeably closer to what I had before and hopefully giving me the clearance I need even with a 1" lift.

Here is the clearance as it stands

That’s not a stock dizzy. I can’t tell from the photos but to me it appears taller than the factory duraspark. I know the DUI units cause hood interference issues.

Correct, it's a Summit Racing model and I'm hoping I can find a shorter cap or something to help with the height.

Also the intake manifold design, type, or brand does not change the location of the distributor or its height.
Only the height of the carburetor.

Right, so it looks like I'm replacing/swapping out both the distributor (or cap) and the manifold {sigh}. Maybe I can sell the other as the engine hasn't even had its first run.

Would adding a second inch of body left be simpler than swapping out engine components?

I thought about that too but it already has a 2.5 suspension lift and I like the current stance. The air intake isn't really the one I had wanted originally so I'll upgrade.
