Finally got my spare mounted

actually u can take a piece (inch or so) of 3/8 hose and zip tie it to the latch on the tailgate. It takes the slop out of the latch. Works every time. I will post a pic. All my friends love it!

I used a piece of 5/8" hose and atached it with a couple of zip ties as you said. It works great! Thanks for the advace, now if I can just fix the rest of the rattles like that around the tailgate and rear window.
