Got these used stainless steel vent shades from Delconick. Was not aware that they would be used. ( so no instructions). I cleaned them up and tried to install yesterday. They I assumed compressed into the window frame. They could be worked up to the top of the frame and tucked under the bright work. The problem is that the window can not be raised the final 3" or so at the top. The shade prevents the glass from going up. So am I supposed to cut the window felt anti-rattle strip the last 3" on the sides? I just installed these too. Anyone that has installed these chime in....Mo in Clovis, CA.;

Mine tuck between the felt and the outer door metal only about 3/8 " with one small screw holding them on . Post up some pics of how you have yours installed

Window vents

I have the stainless bead on the felt and the stainless door frame trim. May no work with the bright trim? Can you post a picture of yours and does yours have the extra frame trim, did you have to drill the hole or was it there already?.. Thanks...Mo

Mine had the vent shades and the bright trim, pretty sure the vent shades are still on the frames, I'll see about a pic tomorrow.

They fit

Bought a used set from [ Delconic ] last year, NICK is a great guy; The top of the vent shade slips between the frame and window felt; the [to the rear] shade does the same. The front does not go inside ; but mounts to the outside of the vent window frame with the screw after drilling.. Be sure to use the smallest and shortest screw. Too long and the screw will touch the glass. I did have to massage the stainless to fit properly. Take your time and it will come together. I also have the sport trim on my door frames. Dont know if this is the way it was meant; but it works for me.:cool::cool::cool:

vent shades

I don't know Nick and don't doubt that he's a stand up guy, I just meant that since it was used and we actually never discussed their condition and it did not come with instructions, it caught me by surprised. There a way you can post some pictures of how yours mount? Thanks....Mo

Done with the shades!

Well yesterday was productive, got the ball joints almost changed, removed the steering column in prep for the tilt column install, and finish the vent shade install. I was almost done when the screw broke 3/4 of the way in. These are tiny to begin with. I had to use a 5/64th Titanium bit to drill through, then had to go thru 5 screws to get it threaded in the hole, then the screw broke. I got real lucky I was able to re-drill it, without egging the tiny hole. Then used a few more screws to re-thread again. It finally went in. They look nice and the tiny screw that keeps it together, does not distract too much . Thanks all that helped out...Mo in Clovis
