I don’t know the first post, but I’m guessing the second post was something like, “What size lift and tires?”

Unfortunately the first 18 months of the forum are lost. I started this site back in 1996, but didn't add the forum until Jan 2001.

The first forum was remotely hosted because I didn't have my own server back then. After about a year I realized I needed more flexibility, but the remote hosting company would not give me access to the database, so I had to just cut my losses and start over. Then a server crash in Aug 2002 wiped out another year's worth of posts.

So the earliest post still in existence is from Aug 2002, but that's about 18 months after the real first post. It's too bad. It would be fun to go back to the very beginning. It was probably a lot of me talking to myself. ;D

I know myself and others appreciate this forum. I’ve been on here for years then took a break for a few years but it’s still just as friendly and informative. Thanks for putting it together Jon!

Who were some of the earliest members that are still active? I know I was kind of a late adopter, but if you figure from Aug of '02 then I wasn't that late after all!

If you click on "community" up at the top, then click on "members list" from the drop down, you can sort the list by join date. You can then look to the right and see each users last activity/visit/log in here on the site.

Doing this shows several of the members who signed up back in '01 are still relatively active here in 2019, but seem to be more readers than posters.

‘Lost’ ...just like the first year Bronco records. tragic, but both make for some great discussions!

That's part of why I started this thread. I thought I was pretty close to the start date. Back then most of us flipped over here from bronco.com when it died. Luckily that abouut when jon started the forums in 01.

I got a PC in 1999 and joined a Bronco site but never posted(thought it was thid one) Bronco took a dump and parked it and I didn't return for 10 yrs and couldn't find where I joined so I re-membered. I do recall someone was selling parts in the mid-west and cheap to I thought.

That's a cool story...I credit all of the members and Jon for making this site what it is, as a lot of other cool sites from the early '00's are now defunct or not worth visiting, and this one has just gotten better with age.

Jon, when it crashed did the users have to register again? You said the posts were lost, but were the usernames and their memberships? I remember joining and posting to an early Bronco site in 2000/2001ish but never found the username TrooperGT that I used then.

First post was only a couple weeks why of 2 years ago. It was about seats, only reason I remember it was I was looking through my old posts a couple months ago. Oct 1 2017 I suffered a TBI and remember very little until early the next year. My posts till then do not count! . As do all the parts I purchased (and subsequently purchased again) as I told my wife. Not my fault she only took away my keys and alcohol, but didn't take away my credit card until I was near my normal!! This site has been an integral part of my rehab (and my addiction).
