Is this what Fitech has out now to replace the FCC?

This is their description:

The Command Center 2 is the ultimate answer to fuel system simplicity! Designed to be used in vehicles with stock fuel tanks converting from carburetor to EFI. The Command Center 2 eliminates that problem. Complete new design from years of testing has resulted in the most effective system anywhere. The pump in the Command Center 2 never gets uncovered because it receives a steady supply of fuel from your existing fuel system. So your system maintains a constant flow of fuel. The built-in regulator eliminates the need for an external regulator. Since the Command Center 2 is constantly circulating fuel to and from your tank, your fuel pump stays cooler and will have a longer life. The fuel pump noise is also muffled by being submerged in fuel 100% of the time. The Command Center 2 is the best way to provide the necessary increase in volume when adding a power adder such as boost or nitrous to your engine. So, whether you are racing, off-roading, or just cruising, this “compact” external fuel assembly is your all in one solution.

Looks like it.

I just went with the external pump on the frame rail, and tapped into the filler neck for a return. I can hear the pump, but if it ever fails I can grab a parts store pump and hopefully be on the road again.

I suspect this would not work with dual tanks without some sort of unnecessarily complicated fuel line and valve mechanism?

Why not? Doesn't the mechanical pump just pump fuel into this and this steps the pressure up to the EFI? Factory plumbing can stay the same. When one tank gets low just switch the valve to the other tank. You will need to make a return line back to one of the tanks though.

I’m running the G-Surge pump from them. It’s the same thing, but no regulator and the return line runs back through the unit (constant fuel in the lift pump).
No too sure what the benefits of this FCC unit are. Unless you have TBI unit that doesn’t have a regulator on the throttle body.

I bought my FCC from Summit a while back, still not installed. Would summit take back and let me "trade" for a newer model?

So I just called Summit. I can return it, but since it is beyond 90 days, I will incur a 10% restocking fee. Is this new model worth the $40 restocking fee?

That still looks like you could have vapor lock issues. The small tank with the hp pump also getting the hot return fuel, is a recipe for vapor lock. I've run into that same situation when my tank gets down to just a few gallons of fuel. With the right elevation and heat, the fuel will boil. Running the return to the main tank will solve the heated fuel issue, but that complicates running two tanks.

I have my return line run back to the main tank. With it full and running off the aux tank, it will actually backfill the fill tube and start pouring fuel out the cap. I guess a 6 port switching valve should have been installed instead of the 3 port so I could have a return line back to the tank being used. Put it on the list of things to do.

Yep - I did the 6 port electric valve so the return followed the intake for each tank. It was a little bit of a head scratcher to install but worked fine. That was my initial setup but I wanted to simplify it with a single tank and got the 23 gallon tank and inline pump.
